Sack Pardew

Pride. Passion. Belief.

We started this campaign a few months ago to document Alan Pardew’s failures as the manager of Newcastle United in light of an alarming nosedive in form and results over the past two and a half seasons. The aim was to highlight in a constructive manner, using stats and facts, why we thought it was time for a change of manager at Newcastle United. Today that goal has been achieved as it has been confirmed that Alan Pardew will leave Newcastle United to join Crystal Palace with immediate effect.

In our view it is not, and never should be, an acceptable situation for the manager of Newcastle United to target no higher than a mid-table finish, downplay our European history and actively tout players around in public. While some of those negative views may stem from the top, it still takes the other person to hold, and publicly express, such views themselves. We now wish to encourage Mike Ashley to appoint a suitable candidate based not on the principles mentioned above, but on the intention to improve and build the team further. We have a good squad of players, a great stadium and fantastic support. The current vacancy offers an opportunity to restore pride, passion and belief at Newcastle United. It offers the opportunity to appoint a positive manager with the ability and dignity to genuinely lead the club forward on and off the pitch.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the fans who supported our cause and helped put the spotlight on Pardew. We believe that your support may have ultimately contributed to his departure and we hope it has helped demonstrate what fans can achieve if they combine their efforts towards challenging a club’s higher powers. In particular we owe gratitude to Print North East and the bars that participated in our Hull City protest. As promised, the remaining funds from our own contributions and your kind donations (£212) will be donated to charity, specifically North East volunteer group supporting the homeless Making Winter Warmer.
